Alexandra-Maria-Lara
Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German television and film actress most well-known for her roles in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the sole children of Romanian actors Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into the world of show business early, and ended up playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she reached the age of 16. Her critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as that as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge. The role was in the commercially and critically highly successful Oscar nominated historic war drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominees featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Over the years Alexandra has appeared in many noteworthy national and international projects. For instance, the British biographical movie Control, the Greek film The Dust of Time, as well as the French history miniseries Napoleon are among these. She also remained member of juries at Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
