Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. Her family made the move to Oxfordshire at the age of five when she enrolled in at the Dragon School. Emma was only six when she made the decision to make it as an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she studied singing and acting. As a ten year old Emma was a participant in numerous Stagecoach Productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel was cast for the first time in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theater teacher. After the eight auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the role of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film appearance came alongside Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It set new records for first-day openings and weekday openings as well as being the most-grossing feature in 2001. Reviewers have been highly acclaimed of the film, as well as the performance of the three principal young actors. The popular British daily The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her performance in the film and was awarded an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in the Feature Film.
